What will you do?
As the Director of Business Development, you will have a dynamic role in crafting the future of our client's commercial business unit in the US. You will be drive new business, develop innovative concepts, and implement a detailed sales strategy.
- Drive and implement growth initiatives within specific market areas and sectors, ensuring thorough execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Evaluate and confirm the feasibility of commercial ventures, leveraging established best practices to achieve ambitious objectives.
- Participate in rapid learning and market analysis to strategically determine the appropriate timing for experimentation, learning, and expansion to maximize potential.
- Transform novel concepts into opportunities for expansion and competitive advantages, positioning the organization as a leader in the industry.
- Motivate and direct your team toward high performance, fostering a company-wide acceptance of innovative methods and the achievement of exceptional results.
- Partner with the focused commercial unit team to create inventive and practical solutions, navigating challenges and fostering organizational success.
- Encourage ingenuity and promote the adoption of changes within the heavy commercial sector, establishing the organization as a forward-thinking leader.
- Monitor progress closely and provide regular reports, ensuring meticulous completion of all projects to the highest standards.
- Establish connections with key influencers in important markets to develop project specifications, forging strong, lasting collaborations for the organization.
- Establish and nurture connections with various stakeholders (e.g., distributors, owner groups, contractors, property managers) within target markets to broaden the organization's reach.
- Represent the organization at industry events to showcase offerings and enhance brand recognition.
- Manage and participate in local events, engaging key stakeholders to promote the organization.
- Maintain consistent communication and share strategic plans with external partners to ensure alignment and achieve shared objectives.
Who are you?
- 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related area.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive innovative projects.
- Demonstrated experience and ability of motivating teams to achieve desired outcomes.
- Possess a proven ability to develop and articulate persuasive proposals to key clients.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
- Display exceptional skills in navigating complex situations and implementing effective solutions.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software and project management tools.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, commerce, marketing, or engineering.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time for client meetings, team management and other business related activities.
