ROLE: The Sales Associate is responsible for working with customers, answering telephone inquiries, general housekeeping in their respective departments, maintaining products and merchandising displays in their departments.
The Sales Associate reports directly to the Store Manager.
DUTIES:
- Process customer special orders accurately and according to store policy.
- Maintain correct product pricing and ensure shelf tags are accurate and visible.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of all products sold in the store.
- Tint paint to customer specifications and operate the color-matching system.
- Cut keys and assemble key lock sets as required.
- Maintain appealing and well-stocked merchandise displays.
- Stock shelves efficiently after receiving and processing new inventory.
- Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions on store procedures, safety, and products.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper identification and tagging of sale and promotional items.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to all customers and staff.
- Be flexible and willing to work in different departments as needed.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the store manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good visual acuity
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack
- Close vision for computer work
- Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
- Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively and professionally with all audiences (in-person or via handheld transceiver)
