M-D is seeking a Senior Manager of Learning and Development to join our team. The Senior Manager of Learning & Development will lead efforts to advance M-DBP learning strategies that build employee capabilities, support career growth, and drive business performance. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating impactful learning programs while partnering closely with HR and company leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role will also play a key part in building and sustaining company succession planning strategies to ensure a strong pipeline of internal talent.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation, execution, and tracking of engaging learning experiences across onboarding, compliance, leadership, and technical training (in-person, virtual, and hybrid).
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and align training initiatives with business goals, performance metrics, and employee development.
- Apply modern instructional design methodologies to build scalable, impactful learning programs using relevant tools.
- Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), ensure effective configuration and manage reporting
- Partner with HR and department leaders to support career pathing, succession planning, and organization-wide talent development.
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify critical roles, assess talent readiness, and develop targeted learning interventions to support succession plans.
- Lead the creation and integration of development plans for high-potential employees as a part of a broader succession planning framework.
- Support the implementation and facilitation of talent review processes by providing insights on development opportunities and readiness gaps.
- Stay ahead of L&D trends, leverage creative tools and techniques, and drive employee engagement through inclusive and dynamic learning strategies
- Lead the development and implementation of learning programs that support leadership, professional, and functional capability development.
- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with external training vendors and consultants to ensure high-quality, cost-effective learning solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Design blended learning solutions (e.g. virtual, instructor-led, e-learning) using modern instructional design practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver scalable learning experiences.
- Build strong relationships with leaders, HR Partners, and subject matter experts to assess learning needs.
- Develop and manage the training and development budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources, cost control, and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Translate business priorities into actionable learning strategies.
- Oversee the execution of company-wide and targeted training initiatives, including logistics, communications, facilitator coordination, communications, facilitator coordination, and participant engagement.
- Ensure content is accessible inclusive and aligned with M-D core values and performance expectations.
- Establish and track learning KPIs to measure the effectiveness and ROI of programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Business, Human Resources or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in the Learning & Development, including program design, facilitation, and measurement.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into effective learning strategies.
- Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and emerging L&D technologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing LMS platforms, e-learning tools, and digital learning ecosystems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with a results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Experience with leading an organization with multi-region L&D strategy implementation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively and collaboratively on a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and gain buy-in from firm leaders and other key stakeholders.
- Ability to take ownership of multiple projects and see them through to completion.
