Position Summary:
A highly visible supply chain role that will manage the Demand Planning (forecasting and inventory) requirements process. This is a strategic and hands-on position responsible for developing and executing Demand and Inventory plans that will drive the organization towards exceeding customer service levels by using analytical, marketing and sales data. Collaboration with other members of the supply chain, sales, marketing, and customer support teams is paramount to achieve these sales and service objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
- Maintain demand planning processes and systems. Propose, and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
- Oversee demand planning and management processes for new and existing products
- Work with customers, sales team and supply chain management to improve forecast precision.
- Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
- Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans
- Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
- Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
- Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
- Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Target to fill rate goal and minimum/maximum stock levels
- Participate in S&OP meetings
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Solid understanding of demand planning strategies and models; as well as inventory management practices and procedures.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous Demand Planning or Material Resource Planning experience
- Advanced Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Report Writer, SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and generate results in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated business acumen and strong analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated team and individual leadership skills: decision-making, analytical, team building and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and supportive to meet changing work demands.
Education and Certification:
- Four Year College Degree (Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field) or equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
- APICS CPIM Certification preferred.
