The Director, Business HR- Sales & Marketing is a key member of the Business HR Leadership team. Responsible for leading the development of the people strategy to enable Pella’s Talent Advantage for the Sales & Marketing teams. The Director, Business HR- Sales & Marketing is responsible for aligning business strategy with human resources strategy. This role will create positive and effective partnerships across the business and HR teams to develop and drive scalable HR solutions to deliver value that enables delivery of business objectives.
Responsibilities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Serve as a key leader in the Business HR organization, leading the development of the Sales & Marketing people strategy, ensuring the strategy is consistent and aligned with company-wide business and functional priorities.
- Coach and develop members of the Sales & Marketing Business HR team, setting prioritized goals and establishing metrics to measure the growth and performance of the team.
- Leverage strong organizational, business, and financial acumen while providing strategic counsel to executive business leaders on all Talent Advantage strategic initiatives. Remain focused on driving the successful execution of their business strategy.
- Drive efforts to advance the people strategy in other areas, such as performance management, organizational effectiveness and design, total rewards, employee engagement, inclusion, and diversity.
- Ensure a deep understanding of the organizational health of Sales & Marketing, utilizing data and insights (i.e., business performance, attrition, future talent pipeline, engagement, etc.), to inform people and organization strategy, translating insights into solution-oriented actions.
- Collaborate by providing business input and signals to HR Centers of Excellence (COE), and HR Services to partner on the development and execution of an effective human resource strategy.
- Drive results by inspiring people, modeling Pella values, developing the capabilities of others, and ensuring a productive work environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- BS or BA degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field with 10+ years of progressive, strategic HR experience or, MS/MA degree, or an M.B.A. (preferred) with 7+ years of relative experience.
- Proven HR leader and strategic business partner with the ability to influence and drive change at the functional and organizational level.
- Understanding of business, how profitability is achieved, who the business serves, how the business differentiates in the market and industry to give context to HR policy and practices.
- Proven ability to effectively communication and collaborate across the organization, at all levels, including executive management. Experience working in a matrixed environment, a plus.
- Successful record in creating a high-performance culture and building leadership bench strength. Able to build strong mutually beneficial relationships - achieving results through capability, credibility, and influence.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging data and insights to drive actions that enable positive business outcomes.
- Thrives in environments where it is strategic as well as tactical; sees the bigger picture of the broader strategy and company growth plans and is able and willing to roll up their sleeves to do what it takes to get there.
