The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to lead all aspects of our manufacturing operations, warehousing, inventory management, and lumber yard. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be directly accountable for production output, workplace safety, equipment reliability, and the overall performance of the facility. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a key role in driving operational efficiency and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Operations Management
- Manage and oversee all day-to-day production operations to meet output targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines
- Direct all plant, warehouse, and facility management activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Oversee shipping and receiving, packing, and logistics coordination to support on-time delivery commitments
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives across all production and operational processes
Lumber Yard & Inventory Management
- Manage the 10-acre lumber yard including receiving, storage, organization, and material flow
- Implement and maintain Inventory Control Management systems to ensure accuracy and minimize waste
- Oversee Yard Management practices to optimize space utilization, material handling, and accessibility
Health & Safety
- Own and lead the Health and Safety program for the entire facility, ensuring full compliance with OHSA and all applicable regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Foster a safety-first culture across all teams and operations
- Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
- Oversee Preventative Maintenance and Repairs on all industrial manufacturing equipment & fleet
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as required
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop plant staff to build a high-performing, accountable team
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and address performance issues directly
- Build a culture rooted in accountability, safety, quality, and operational discipline
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment
- Proven track record managing production, warehousing, inventory, and yard operations
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety Management, including OHSA compliance and safety program administration
- Demonstrated experience with Preventative Maintenance programs for industrial manufacturing equipment
- Proficiency in Inventory Control Management and Yard Management best practices
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies; Black Belt Six Sigma certification is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Business Central (ERP) and the broader M365 suite
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on management style
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
What We Offer
- Competitive annual salary of $100,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and fit for the role (44-hour work week, Monday to Friday, on-site, paid bi-weekly)
