Established in 1998, Tech-Wood has been a trusted provider of Engineered Wood Products and Roof Trusses to home builders in Calgary and the surrounding areas. Now, we’re taking innovation to the next level with our new manufacturing facility in SE Calgary. This new facility will be equipped with fully automated production tables that will produce interior and exterior prefab wall panels.
What You Bring:
- Read, interpret and understand blueprints and the building codes relating to residential, commercial or farm projects.
- Ability to examine drawings and blueprints for intent, conformity, and error.
- Design roof and floor takeoffs, layouts, load development and truss designs using MiTek Sapphire, Wood Works, or similar component sizing software and CAD software programs.
- Generate quotes quickly, efficiently, and accurately for customers.
- The skill to deal with various customers courteously and effectively, having an exceptional customer service attitude to maintain excellent client interaction.
- Communication with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project details before and during construction.
- Team player.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Technical Diploma.
- 2+ years of work experience in the wood truss and engineered wood products industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering wood trusses, wood I-joists and structural composite lumber products.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the building and construction process related to single-family, multi-family and light commercial wood-framed construction.
- Understanding of local building codes and construction practices.
