Role Description:
The Commission Sales Associate/Designer is a full-time, on the road sales position. This role involves greeting and consulting with customers, understanding their needs, and designing custom kitchen cabinet solutions using provided tools and design standards. The associate/designer prepares quotes, presents design options, and follows up with prospects to close sales and meet commission-based targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with the manufacturing team, ensuring accurate specifications, maintaining product and material knowledge, and updating the showroom with current samples and displays. The role also requires maintaining detailed records of client interactions, supporting after-sales service, and contributing to a positive, professional customer experience. CRM-Hubspot
Qualifications
- Customer-facing skills, including active listening, clear communication, and a professional, service-oriented approach to working with residential and commercial clients.
- Sales-related capabilities, such as lead follow-up, negotiation, managing a commission-based pipeline, and closing deals to meet or exceed targets.
- Design aptitude, with the ability to interpret client requirements, create layout concepts, and work with kitchen design tools or software (experience with cabinet or interior design is an asset).
- Organizational skills, including attention to detail, accurate documentation of measurements and specifications, and coordination with production teams to ensure correct orders.
- Basic math and measurement skills for interpreting floor plans, calculating dimensions, and preparing precise quotes.
- Comfort working on-site in a showroom and manufacturing environment and collaborating with cross-functional colleagues.
- Previous experience in kitchen design, cabinetry, millwork, or related home improvement sales is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in design, business, or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to work full-time, including some evenings or weekends as needed to support customer visits.
- Mandatory Sales training provided 2 hour a week with a proven sales process via Zoom.
