Dealer Sales Representative — Häfele America Co.
If you've spent time on a showroom floor — or you've sold into one — you already know the game: dealers trust reps who show up, know the product cold, and make their lives easier. That's the job here.
Häfele is looking for a Dealer Sales Representative to own the relationship between our company and the Kitchen & Bath dealers, lumberyards, and resellers in your territory. You'll be the face of Häfele for these accounts — the person they call when they need a quote, a technical answer, or someone to walk a showroom floor with them and figure out what's actually going to sell.
This isn't a desk job. You'll be on the road, in showrooms, at trade shows, and occasionally on a job site troubleshooting an installation. If that sounds like more work than a typical sales role — it is. It's also more interesting.
What you'll actually be doing
- Running your territory's dealer network. You'll manage the day-to-day relationship with Kitchen & Bath showrooms and resellers, and you'll be the go-to liaison connecting dealers, consumers, and our internal teams.
- Becoming a product expert. Deep knowledge of our catalog, with particular focus on LED lighting, kitchen accessories, and decorative hardware. You'll train dealer staff on how to actually use our catalogs and technical resources — not just sell them a binder.
- Presenting and problem-solving. Formal presentations to dealer teams, informal walk-throughs, and occasional on-site support when a hardware installation needs a second set of eyes.
- Working Trade events. Staffing trade shows, regional events, and time on the Häfele Mobile Showroom.
- Coordinating across teams. You'll work closely with Customer Service Specialists, Technical Sales Specialists, Regional Directors, and Product Managers — sales here is a team sport, not a solo act.
- Reporting what you see. You're often the first person to spot a shift in what dealers want. Part of the job is feeding that back to Product Managers and Marketing before it becomes obvious to everyone else.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years in retail kitchen design or the industry — or 5 years of equivalent experience. We care more about whether you know the trade than which box you checked to get there.
- Comfortable presenting to groups — managers, dealers, customers — and confident enough to think on your feet when someone throws you a curveball question mid-presentation.
- Solid with numbers: discounts, commissions, proportions, area and volume calculations. You don't need to love math, but you do need to be fast and accurate with it.
- Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and general CRM/lead management tools.
- Willing and able to travel — this territory is large, and the job lives on the road as much as anywhere else. (If you've got hard limits on travel, let's talk about that up front — better to know now than three months in.)
- NKBA, CKD, CBD, or ASID membership is a plus, not a requirement.
Why this role, specifically
You get real ownership of a territory and the relationships in it — this isn't a call-center version of sales where you're working a script off a list. You're building something with dealers over time, and you'll see the results of that work in the showroom, not just in a spreadsheet.
