Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site, Project Coordinator role based in Ottawa, ON. The Project Coordinator will manage and oversee project schedules, communicate with clients and vendors, coordinate material orders, track project progress, and ensure timelines are met. The role requires regular collaboration with team members, and an eagerness to learn the industry, to deliver quality products and solutions effectively for a variety of commercial building projects.
Role Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination - Organize and update company bidding/installation calendar, and general printing of documents (plans, specs, forms, etc.) to aid salespersons.
- Liaison to Shipping/Sales - coordinate customer orders and company purchasing, and assist shipping for smooth flow of orders.
- Liaison to Carpenters/Automatics Technician - communicate between in house carpenters/automatics technician and sales to coordinate order schedule and priority.
- Customer relations - help with customer requests on new and pending orders by providing lead times, catalogue cuts, contact information, and problem solve to unified solution.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- Must hold, or be eligible for security clearance (Secret).
- Minimum 1 year experience in project coordination/management in the construction industry.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project documentation and material orders.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, memory are crucial.
- Ability to read plans, technical specifications, and work orders.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, written and oral. (French is an asset but not required).
- Intermediate knowledge of computer skills (i.e. excel, word, outlook, sage, typing).
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in construction industry.
- Valid driving license and good driving record.
- Outgoing/self starter.
- Familiarity with commercial doors, frames, or architectural hardware, or a willingness to learn the industry.
- Problem-solving abilities to address project challenges and coordinate solutions.
- Knowledge of project management software i.e. Bluebeam, Procore, Auto Desk an asset, but NOT required.
