Job Description:
The Sales Associate provides efficient and friendly customer service by proactively approaching customers to assess their needs and offer advice. They possess in-depth product and department/service knowledge, provide information on product features, and are familiar with related products to help sell entire projects. Within their assigned department or service, they know how to greet all customers, build rapport, and end interactions with a thank you. They may also provide basic service in neighboring departments and services. The Sales Associate emphasizes customer service and is committed to identifying and fulfilling customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer satisfaction;
Adherence to The Home Depot's Move to Action model for customer service (greeting the customer, building rapport, and ending with a thank you).
Actively seek out customers throughout the store and guide them to the appropriate merchandise, regardless of the department or service.
Ask open-ended questions about the customer's projects to determine their level of expertise and needs.
Promote and recommend available services, such as Special Services, Rentals, Pro Counter, and Pro Service.
Drive sales
by discussing available choices (good, better, best) and suggesting related items or services from other departments or services that the customer may need.
Inform the customer about the entire project.
Leverage the Empowerment policy if necessary to satisfy the customer.
Perform daily shelf maintenance: all products must be labeled, properly displayed, and clean.
Develop skills and knowledge
by maintaining a thorough knowledge of all products in your department or service and neighboring departments and services.
Proactively seek to become familiar with all products and services.

Adhere to all policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention.
