About the Role:
The Customer Service Yard Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient handling and management of inventory within the yard of a durable goods manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and finished products, maintaining accurate records to support seamless operations. The role requires close collaboration with production, logistics, and customer service teams to meet delivery schedules and uphold high standards of customer satisfaction. The associate will also be instrumental in identifying and resolving yard-related issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this position ensures that the yard operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company policies and customer expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or logistics environment.
- Experience with customer service.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and shipping/receiving processes.
- Ability to operate yard equipment safely, such as forklifts or skidsteers. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Able to lift up to 75lbs and move easily.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a building or landscaping environment,
- Forklift operator certification or other relevant equipment operation licenses.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the daily operations of the yard including receiving, storing, and shipping durable goods and materials.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to schedule and prioritize yard activities to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation to ensure traceability and accountability of all yard assets.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and accuracy, reporting discrepancies or damages promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the yard to optimize space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to resolve any yard-related issues or delays.
